Health and Safety site charity initiative

Working safely raised money for the RNLI as part of the Cross Solent Main pipeline replacement scheme

4D and Southern Water's site charity initiative encourages site workers to focus on safety every moment of every day during construction.

As part of the scheme, for every accident-free day worked, Southern Water and 4D donate 30p to a charity nominated by site staff.

A reportable accident means that the charity pot is halved and a second accident means it is taken away entirely, so it’s in everyone’s interest to work as safely as possible. So far, this initiative has raised over £100,000 for good causes, from local charities like Sussex-based St Peter & St James Hospice to national charities like the RNLI and Macmillan.
